Yaw Djang is a writer and entrepreneur from Manchester. Founder of the original X-Ray Films — which in the mid 2000s housed an unparalleled curation of underground, independent and art-house titles for rent and sale — Yaw went on to co-write a number of scripts, including a semi-autobiographical TV show optioned by London's Artists Studios. And while film remains his first love, he has also built a career as a restaurateur, opening three restaurants across the UK. His current collaboration with Jayne Amara Ross marks his first foray into producing.
Jayne Amara Ross is an Australian artist living in Paris, France. Her performance art and experimental films have been shown internationally, from La Cinémathèque Française in Paris (FR) to Bíó Paradís in Reykjavik (IS) and Trinosophes in Detroit (USA). After many years of cinematographic exploration (with a focus on analogue formats and artisanal processing) and performance poetry, her collaboration with Yaw Djang for X-Ray Films is her first foray into fiction film directing.
